I don't think anyone's yet come up with a reliable way of estimating
actual reads, but you can get an idea of the relative popularity
through some of the services by comparing with other people's sites
("my blog is 1000 times less popular than BoingBoing")

Pubsub.com have a linkrank list:
http://www.pubsub.com/linkranks.php

Bloglines can give you a figure for the number of subscribers (through
their service) - find the site by searching in the directory
http://bloglines.com/dir
then 'preview' - details are on the right of the title bar

I can't remember offhand but I think you can find similar things at
Technorati, Feedster, etc.
