Hi all,
I'm wondering about how a feed's channel description element is or should be
used. In the past it's been considered that this element should be an
overall description of the feed. Not a description of the immediate
contents of the current copy. I'm wondering, however, about the possibility
(or desirability) of using the description (or something else) as part of
what might be useful as a 'check it before you get it' sort of description.
Granted, given the current semantics of how RSS is polled there isn't a way
to "do this". But everything evolves over time and I'm wondering if anyone
else sees merit to such a thing? I realize this would 'break' the semantics
of how a feed is retrieved and current tools wouldn't grasp using it without
new code being written.
