What I particularly like in RSS1 is that it easily extendable. There are may be more uses to it than you or I could imagine. In my particular case, I have an application where I would like to have short and long item summary. Before inventing something new, I am just asking the community if there is anything already for this. I do not suggest to add this to RSS spec and I do not force other people to use this.
