It depends on which tools you plan to use/develop
stuff with. For instance, if you're planning to serve
RSS feeds with XSLT stylesheets, you have a moderate
amount of work to do in order to display your data
from XML files.

Its my understanding that XSLT is well-suited for
deploying RDF site-summary (RSS for short). 

Of courses, you can do it in userland by using
php-scripts or softwares like wordpress.

As I understand, RSS is a quickstart for broader
semantic activity on the web. In short, its my
personal ecleftical belief that RSS can contribute in
making the web a more data-emphased environment.
