Hi there Leigh. FeedBurner will give you lots of interesting stats about your subscriber base and will track your circulation over time. How we do it is by serving as a "proxy" for your feed: we record and analyze all of the requests for your feed. You can keep your existing feed URL by doing a "redirect": see http://forums.feedburner.com/viewtopic.php?t=3 for more info on that.
