Generically, any SCHEME could be used. Today, most feeds are
distributed using the "http://" SCHEME but there is no reason any
other scheme couldn't be used. The big question is whether any
specific aggregator would recognize and know how to retreive the
feed using the scheme you specify. I'm not sure of the general
consenses on distribution mechanisms being encoded into SCHEMEs, but
it seems to be consistent with FTP for example. Although it is a
little trickier with BitTorrent, for example, in which a tracker
file is downloaded using (usually) HTTP and then the file itself is
used to retrieve the actual file.

In general, p2p is used for large files and not for files in the 20K-
50K size range, which is the size of many (most?) RSS feed files.

There is much more work being done in making ENCLOSURES accessible
using p2p networks such as BitTorrent.

I hope this helps. Not sure though!
