Effectiveness for what purpose?

I don't know if you follow [email protected], but a 
lot of people who use the feed validator, and follow its links to the 
rss profile, don't have the same level of understanding of XML as you 
and I do.

A lot of those people use copy/paste.  Meanwhile, I've updated the 
feedvalidator documentation in an attempt to head these types of 
problems off at the pass:
