How to send keystroke to remote machine

Back in Sept 2013 Boris sent an email (see below) requesting information 
on how to send keystroke through VNC, specifically the Windows Key plus 
a 2nd key.  I was searching the emails I have saved and never saw a 
reply.  I am in need of the same thing, I wish to send keystrokes to 
remote computer.  I have TightVNC 2.7.10 installed on both sides.  
Windows version vary Win XP SP2, Win 7 Pro 64bit, Win 8, Win 8.1, and a 
few others.  Is this possible?
