Could also be a DNS problem.  If trying to connect by Name, try by IP.  
Can you ping or reach other items on 2012 Server?  VNC and Remote 
Desktop are not happy with one another.  I have lost VNC connections 
anytime someone opens a RDP session to a Windows machine.
