"Connection Parameters are empty" error

When attempting to open a saved VNC Connection, I am getting the error:

Error in TightVNC Viewer: Connection parameter (host, port, socket, gates) is empty.

I am on Version 2.8.8

I see this issue has popped up a couple of times in the list but I didn't see a solution, hoping maybe there is one now?
