Does TightVNC have HiDPI support? I'm running Win8 on a 3840x2160 monitor. I can connect to a headless Linux box over *xdmcp* with no problems, and can see a full HiDPI Linux display when using the xming or WinAxe clients on Win8. However, I can't do this with TightVNC. What I've tried: 1 - starting the server on Linux as 'vncserver -geometry 3840x2160 :1'. The Windows client then shows the top-left quarter of the Linux desktop, scaled up to cover the entire 3840x2160 display. 2 - starting the server with a variety of geometries, up to about 1800x900. These show the entire Linux desktop, scaled up to cover most of the actual 3840x2160 display. The results seem to indicate that TightVNC thinks that the Windows monitor is actually 1920x1080, rather than 3840x2160, and that it scales up when the geometry is less than this, and shows a partial desktop when the geometry is larger than this. What I want, of course, is for Linux to think that it has a 3840x2160 desktop, and for TightVNC to map this one-to-one to the monitor. Can anyone explain what's going on here? Thanks. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Check out the vibrant tech community on one of the world's most engaging tech sites, Slashdot.org! http://sdm.link/slashdot ___________________________________________________________ TightVNC mailing list, [email protected] To change your subscription or to UNSUBSCRIBE, please visit https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/vnc-tight-list
