Disabling or reassigning F8 and F9 keyboard shortcuts

I'm using ssvnc 1.0.29-6 on Xubuntu 22.04.1.

In the ssvncviewer, I need to disable (or reassign) the F8 (menu) and
F9 (fullscreen) keys because these are both used on the remotely
accessed systems.  I haven't found any instructions.  Can this be
done directly, or through some resource that can be added to
.Xdefaults?
