TightVNC Raspberry Pi Grey Screen

I'm running TightVNC on a Raspberry Pi 5 that automatically logs in and starts TightVNC. I'm now able to remotely connect to it and it asks for my password. Once I enter the password I get a grey screen. Nothing else... There is a cursor but it does nothing...
