[tin 2.4.3] snapshots - please test

I've made snapshots for testing (release will follow at x-mas as
usual):

No big changes since the last snapshot:
- typo fixes
- honor NDEBUG in assert() replacement (to work around issues with
  lacc and it's a good idea anyway).
- fixed one configure issue with MidnightBSD

Be aware that *.tin.org currently has some stability issues (faulty
hardware; replacement hardware has issues too) - ftp/web/mailserver might
be down unexpcted for a while now and then.
