"* Posting not allowed *" - but it is!

I have just changed the NNTP server I use.

When I connect to the new news server I get a message "*** Posting not
allowed ***" before I authenticate.  I then authenticate OK which
should allow me to post but tin still refuses to allow me to post.

I tried slrn from the same system using the same server and that
allowed me to post.

What am I doing wrong or is tin being silly?
