Wierd, adding that "--without-x" fixed the problem completely, the
configure has now run successfully!

Oddly 'make build' didn't then work but 'cd src;make' does work.  I
now have a working tin.

It seems odd to me that configure seems to default to '--with-x' as
tin is a text mode program.
