that's a flaw on the servers side, the message are cancelled (and thus not
available), but not (yet) removed from the overview-database (which tin uses
to build the threads. not using the overview databse for that task is not an
option as otherwise tin would need to fetch all articles in the group to
just build the thread-view etc.)

not really, but the MI5 stuff is usualy good filterable: no realname in the
From, Subject matches (regexp filter) ^M.?I.?5.?P.?e.?r.?s.?e.?c.?u.? (and
so on), etc...

A nice feature would be NoCem support in tin (AFAIK bleachbot is posting
NoCems for the MI5/Hipcrime stuff) - shouldn't be too hard to implement
(grep the Message-IDs out of the NoCem, build a Message-ID only filter on
it), but I doubt I'll find the time to address this within the next few
month...
