comp.periphs.printers crashing tin - anyone else see this?

I'm subscribed to about 60 newsgroups and I've been using tin for years.

I'm now seeing a rather difficult problem in that whenever I try and
go into the comp.periphs.printers newgroup tin crashes spectacularly
and screws up my terminal window as well such that I can't capture any
of what it outputs when it crashes (cut and past don't work, nothing
gets sent to stdout or stderr).

What I see on the screen after it has crashed is a long list of
libraries (with no newlines) and, at the end "..... [stack]   Aborted"

Help!!  What can I do?

I 'c'aught up comp.periphs.printers yesterday and that stopped it dying
as I went past but it's doing it again today.
