This is probably an excellent idea and I know I should do this.  Until a
week ago, I had never even heard of tin (the newsreader, not the metal),
so when I downloaded it, 1.5.8 was the version I happened to download.
So some site out there has this old version as the latest.  To be
honest, I don't even remember where I downloaded it from!  (I know,
stupid thing to forget, eh?)

But if I can't even get 1.5.8 at least compiled and running, will I have
any better luck with the more recent version?
