yes, in the ways mentioned in the manual:

|   GROUP INDEX COMMANDS
|      GroupToggleGetartLimit 'G'
|                 Toggle article/group limit.

|   GLOBAL OPTIONS MENU AND TINRC CONFIGURABLE VARIABLES
|       Number of articles to get (getart_limit)
|           If  getart_limit  is  >  0  not more than getart_limit
|           articles/group  are  fetched  from  the   server.   If
|           getart_limit  is  < 0 tin will start fetching articles
|           from  your  first  unread  minus  absolute  value   of
|           getart_limit. Default is 0, which means no limit.
