Have you visited www.infrastructures.org, and read the paper=20
'Bootstrapping an Infrastructure'?.  The concepts you refer to are well=20
explained there in gory detail.  There's also a good mail list you'll=20
find through that site.

For what it's worth, this is in the RANCID todo file ;-).  The thought=20
appears to end somewhere around there, however.. perhaps we could hear=20
your suggestions? (perhaps more on topic on the rancid-discuss list).
