magnificent.

works on P3/uniprocessor, P3/smp, P4/SMP & P4/smt without the segfaults 
that we experienced before on SMP/SMT machines.  Haven't tested on the 
core2duo in 64 bit mode, but, I imagine the old segfaults should be 
gone.  Now we can migrate our 2.4/SMP/Tux machines to 2.6.
