Well, no.

I only have ...kernel/drivers.

How do I know if it is compiled as a module or not ? As far as I figured out, if I just use make and make install, it is a module, right ? This is what I did.

Any other idea what could be wrong ?

I am waiting for the new RedHat 7.3, which is coming soon, maybe that solves the problem with the newer kernel. (Using RH7.1, maybe there went something wrong with compiling my own kernel ?)

Hints are welcome.

You compiled the kernel with tux as module?
Does /lib/modules/2.4.18/kernel/net/tux/tux.o
exist?
