As it turns out, the biggest bug here was lack of proper documentation :-) When trying to locate the right directory for the virtual host, tux will actually try _two_ location - first the domainname (with any leading "www" chopped off), and if that fails, it will look for "default" or whatever is specified in /proc/sys/net/tux/default_vhost. If you're using wildcard hosting, create this as an empty directory and all requests will be forwarded to the backend (ie. Apache). I still think just bailing out on the request, if the directory isn't found is a big drastic though.
