Re: random system crashes

What filesystem are you running?  Myself and at least one other person
have had problems that sound very similar to this, and the only
unifying thing that we could come up with was using reiserfs.  I have
no knowledge if anyone has a stable TUX setup running on reiserfs, so
the filesystem thing is just a guess.

Eventually after not being able to get more stability out of a new
server than a windows 95 box, we turned off TUX, turned back on
THTTPD, and strangely no longer crash our server every other day.

I have never gotten a response from the list with any assistance, and
it seems like the general attitude on here is, "Why don't you write a
patch and maybe it will get added in."  The primary developer hasn't
said anything on the list that I have noticed in many months.  No
redhat employee I have seen has said anything on the list since he
last spoke up.  There were rumors to the affect that the development
effort is being placed into newer kernel strains, god forbid someone
would want to run a server off a stable kernel.

As you can tell, I am a bit jaded over my experiences with Tux.  On
the surface it seemed awesome.  In practice it was like a formula one
car hitting a wall, i.e. damn did it go fast and in a blaze of glory.
