opening device in tux module

Hello

I want to open a character device and read it so that 
my TUX module may serve data from the device in TUX modules. 
But "open()" always fails.

In the case of a file, open() fails (No such file or directory)
but tux(TUX_ACTION_READ_OBJECT, req) can read file into memory.

I want to know how to read data from the device.
I want to know better way about file.
