"Real time" and "cached" are sometimes mutually exclusive.  Are you sure 
that Squid or another similar web cache wouldn't be a better fit?  It's 
beginning to sound to me like you are trying to make TUX do things for 
which it wasn't originally intended in terms of scope.  A whole lot of 
effort just so you can say that you are using TUX?
