Odd HTTP reply inquiry

(My sincere apologies for the previous blank email; unfortunate problems 
with my mail client, the original email is included below)

Hi Everyone,

I'm having an odd problem with HTTP replies from a server which I'm very 
much hoping someone here may be able to offer some insight into; the server 
in question isn't maintained by myself, but the information I've been able 
to get on it's configuration is the server field of HTTP replies as follows:

Server: Apache/1.3.27 (Unix)  (Red-Hat/Linux) mod_ssl/2.8.12 OpenSSL/0.9.6b 
PHP/4.1.2 mod_perl/1.26

And a reply from the admin stating that it was "using Tux for caching".

The problem I'm having is that the server sends the following reply to some 
requests:

HTTP/1.1 304 Not Modified
Connection: Keep-Alive
Date: Tue, 25 Mar 2003 17:05:03 GMT
ETag: "8805-dodjkgch"

/

Note the extra " / " line following the first blank one.  This of course 
breaks the 1.1 RFC (304 shouldn't have any content body) and is causing 
Internet Explorer 6.0 problems with page stalling when the reply is at all 
fragemented.

The request I send to prompt the above reply is:

GET /images/cameloth_logo.jpg HTTP/1.0
Accept: */*
Referer: http://www.camelotherald.com/
Accept-Language: en-us
If-Modified-Since: Thu, 30 Jan 2003 22:24:39 GMT
If-None-Match: "8805-dodjkgch"
User-Agent: Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 6.0; Windows NT 5.1)
Host: www.camelotherald.com
Connection: Keep-Alive

The above request was also made via a direct connection (no proxies).

I personally haven't used Tux so I would be extremely grateful if anyone 
with a spare moment could give me some ideas one whether this may be a 
cause, or if not hopefully point me in another direction to pursue.

Again I do not maintain the server, but develop a program which is also 
being adversely affected by these replies.
