actually, i was able to reproduce the crash quire easily when tux was heavily loaded (over 100 hits/sec) under stock 2.4.20 and 2.4.21, just by copying a 500MB file between different directories while tux logging was enabled. i currently have same setup, with over 500 hits/sec at peaks, with absolutelly no logging, and no problems. -------Original Message------- From: [email protected] Date: Wednesday, August 27, 2003 12:23:34 AM To: [email protected] Subject: Re: Tux serving graphics only On Tue, 2003-08-26 at 14:32, Marco Rothley wrote: > With logging enabled the longest uptime was about ten days. The only difference was the uptime rising from > about 4 days to about 8 days. what kernel are you running? 2.4.21pre5aa1 is what we are running on both machines, however, some newer machines are running 2.4.21-aa1 It is interesting that there would be a heavy userland process that could interfere, but, depending on the kernel you were running, there are a number of possibilities. Perhaps we can narrow it down a bit more. > PS: I know my English is not very good but I hope you understood what I tried > to say...your english is much better than my german. _______________________________________________ tux-list mailing list [email protected] https://www.redhat.com/mailman/listinfo/tux-list
