"Batch" regex

How can I add a long list of filters for retrieval, i.e. say I had 200
regex expressions that I wanted to use as filters.  Can I just put
them line by line in a file and call the file with -b?  My impression
is that the -b flag is only for files that have the actual headers in
them, not some regex expression.  But I feel limited by having to put
all of my many regexs on a single line after -I. . .

Anyone have a comment?
