I just downloaded the latest stable ubh-3.x today to play with and
have a few questions which I can't seem to find in any of the
documentation:
o In the servers table, what does the T and F values for the active
field mean?
o How can I tie certain newsgroups to specific servers? In other
words, if a newsgroup I'm connecting to is available on both servers
but I only want to download the headers from one of the servers (e.g.
on giganews, because of the massive retention rate, a newsgroup may
have over a million headers but my ISP news server only has a few
thousand and I don't want to wait for the headers to download from
giganews).
o Is there an easy way (other than learning mysql commands) to clear
out the downloaded headers? In the above example, say I downloaded a
million headers from a newsgroup from giganews but haven't used it in
a while (dated) but don't need/want to download the latest headers. A
million headers can tend to take up a LOT of disk space. :-)
o When I try running ubhcatalog -g <newsgroup>, I get the following
error:
DBD::mysql::db do failed: Access denied for user:
'ubhcache@localhost' to database 'ubhcache' at ./ubhcatalog line 141.
DBD::mysql::db do failed: Access denied for user:
'ubhcache@localhost' to database 'ubhcache' at ./ubhcatalog line 141.
Is there some configuration setting I missed?
Thanks for the help!
