What if a more-inclusive -I or less-exclusive -X is specified on the command line? What I'm looking for is the equivalent of speculative execution; it needs to be able to throw away the results if the guess turns out to be wrong. I'm assuming, though, that the space-cost of the extra tables isn't prohibitive. Given current HD prices, I think that's a safe bet since the entire /var/lib/mysql/ubhcache dir is a total of 2G. (FYI, the proposed multi-server change seems to be working fine for me; at least, I haven't noticed any weirdnesses.)
