   Well, I did more googling on this part of it and found out that
this  problem with the cvs is actually on the cvs server end, not
mine. It's been previously reported as a cvs problem by a fair number
of people. So hopefully someone can fix the cvs server? Or put up the
beta as a tarball somewhere?
