This situation is extremely unlikely to change, because glibc actually does 
_not_ support fully static linking at all!

Still, this should not be a problem for most people, since the dynamically 
linked binaries should work just fine on the following Linux distributions:

Debian:   'sarge' and later
Fedora:   all
Red Hat:  9 only
RHEL:     3 and later
Mandrake: 9.1 and later
SuSE:     8.2 and later
- and any other fairly recent distribution.

That list was generated by examining lists of package versions for various 
distros, and comparing them to unison's requirements - therefore, whilst I 
believe it to be accurate, if any mistakes in the above list are discovered, 
I'd like to hear about them - likewise any suggestions for the addition of 
further distros to the compatibility guide.
