My only other suggestion is to run ktrace/dtrace/krruss/strace or
whatever to see how the lock file is being created.  It really seems
like there is not one and then unison runs and it apepars suddently
unexpected.   Or perhaps there is a unison bug where it creates it and
then expects it not to exist.  Possible -- but we have no other reports
of that, that I know of.
