Synchronizing unison files

Hello,
I am synchronizing my Ubuntu home directory to an external SSD and (I
guess quite naturally) cannot synchronize unison archive files for the
active directory or the unison log file because they change during
synchronization. I could ignore the files in the prf (I guess I would
need a regular expression for the relevant archives files?) but this
would not change anything. Is there any way around this? else I can
easily live with it.
Thanks and best regards,
John
P.S. Referring to my previous postings on time-outs when synchronizing
with a USB Flash Drive, all of that disappears when using an external
SSD. Even though the nominal speeds may be comparable, there is surely
something much better in the communication protocol with SSDs.
