Hard to say, but you left out
  - os and filesystem
  - verison of unison
  - prefs file or command-line args
  - are you using the TUI or ?  watcher?
  - actual output (with names redacted if appropiate?)

and didn't explain if you were able to create a reproduction recipe with
scripts, and include that.
