'=' incomsistent in profile?

In my profiles that seem to work correctly most of the time (occasional err=
or mentioned in another message), most lines have "option =3D value" but on=
e has "option value."  Example:

ignore =3D Name wp-statistics

include default

The man page does not show an equal sign, but it seems to work.  Is "=3D" o=
ptional and harmless for all option names?
