Unison will no longer interoperate with versions before 2.52.0 and will no longer read pre-2.52.0 archive files. and 2.53.0 is not before 2.52.0. I don't understand how that statement could be interpreted as creating an expecation of problems wwhen the oldest version in your world is 2.53.0. You should, however, be sure that every sync (pair of replicas, via preferences file or command-line invocation) has been run at least once since that machine was first updated from pre-2.52.0 to >= 2.52.0. > Could there be problems if the system is unilaterally updated to version > 2.54? Of course there could be; there is always the possibility that things are not as we think. There is no expectation of trouble in updating from 2.53.8 or 2.53.0 to 2.54.0.
