Auto Reindexing of Repository

Does current automatically reindex headers of the archive directory it's 
repository is in?  e.g., I have a package defined for redhat-7.1 updates 
and as new updates get dropped into that directory via rsync, will 
current recalculate headers for sending to the clients?  Or do I need to 
periodically re-initialize the database with cadmin to start using the 
new updates?
