So, current, grabs the data being sent from rhn_register and up2date and
just formats it then dumps it? Could we not grab it and dump into 
mysql, berkely, db, postgresql ?

Current doesn't keep any of that information - when it gets that info
from the client, it just drops it on the floor and goes on with life.
Tracking that information requires a more substantial backend - that's
slated for future versions.
