It was written because I really didn't understand what cfengines
documentation was trying to get me to do.

*I* think its simpler in operation than cfengine.

It's probably tied to unix varients with strong packaging systems
(rpm/deb) than cfengine is.

Its been a long time since I looked at cfengine - I wrote the very first
version of gromit thinking that once I understood the problems that
cfengine was trying to document, I would understand cfengine and would
just switch to it. I kept updating gromit instead.
