Well, I had just installed 1.4.0 a few days before, and had it mostly
working for a while serving a 7.3 update set, until the server started
to regularly fail with silent server shutdown (no messages in the logs,
and no server) upon any sort of up2date connection. 

I updated to 1.4.1, and it seems to be working just fine, without
any further reconfiguration.   

So, yes, good luck with 1.4.1 so far.
