Thats what I get for making a last minute "obvious" fix.

It also means that that 2.8 is not a perfect back port of 3.0.

Ok, Your fix of the _delete function is correct. I'll add that patch and
do a new snapshot this afternoon. I'm hoping I can get an 8.0 installed
here to play with.
