It's possible that compatibility is broken with other VNC viewers but 
it's presumably a -recent- bug.
We must let the server send non VNC standard encodings in some cases. 
Maybe a VNC version number handshaking bug...

Anyway it should be easy to fix as UltraVNC still fully support the 
standard VNC RFB protocole. We've only added a bunch of new encodings 
and protocole extensions (FileTransfer, Chat, Cache...) that should'nt 
in any case brake the compatibility.

Thus this possible problem will be fixed by the V1 release.
Going to make some test with tight and Real viewers and fix the issue.

For now, have you tried to use the embedded JavaViewer under MAC OS X 
using your WebBrowser ?
You can even do some file transfer with it (http://YourServerIP:5800)
(BTW this JavaViewer is based on the standard JavaViewer with ONLY the 
FT protocole added and it works fine with UltraVNC server ;)
