Yes, security is important to me as well.

Last night I spent some time analyzing the repeater source and writing
out documentation to build a new one. I'm going to be using a safe
language (haven't decided between Python [my personal favorite, but
might have performance issues], C# [written/tested/run against Mono] and
Java [which my employer uses, so there'll be plenty of people on-staff
who can take over maintenance]; probably will start with Python and port
elsewhere as-needed). I have a few wish-list security features
additional to those presently included myself, and porting to a
higher-level language will make it easier to add them and easier to be
assured that they don't suffer from low-level security issues (buffer
overruns &c).
