After the today's /.'d, this makes a good time to update people on our
progress.

We currently have 3 nodes online (6th/Mission, San Bruno Mtn. & DeHaro
St). The downtown location feeds Bruno & DeHaro. All nodes run our
standard whitepaper'd configuration, with FreeBSD 5.1-CURRENT.

...To Clarify and how you can help

# Funding: Contrary to what slashdot posters think, all nodes are
self-funded by myself, Tim, Cliff or John. We haven't secured so-called
'Homeland Security 9/11' grants via public safety agencies. We'd
obviously like for the network to grow, but really more financial
support. SFlan charges $1k per node (which includes install), we're on
sale for ~$700 hardware cost and throw free install ;)

# Documentation: Tim is working with an awesome web developer for a new
site, but we need content before rolling it live. Docs on how to
connect, security concerns, general education, etc. This would be a
great opportunity for the non-uber-geek crowd.

# Networking: Introductions to possible node sites, funders, etc.

# OS: We plan to upgrade all nodes to FreeBSD 5.2-RC1 ASAP. More help
in striping down the OS and more 'embedded' engineering is welcomed.
We're currently working in-formally with ThirdBreak (Santa Cruz) and
WLinden (Netherlands) on merged our efforts together.
