That is all true. I am not saying that it really does give 10dBm but rather simply stating that the article says it. But, I do agree with their logic behind it. How much gain you get from it is really dependent on the building and many more things. I can say that I have been in a building where this was implemented and it did work very well but I have not experienced vertical in the same building so I can't say that it worked better. One thing to consider is that most PC cards are actually horizontally polarized which is another reason I suggested horizontal. Who really knows? Every situation is different and some cards are actually vertically polarized but very few.
