If the firmware is recent (>= ~8.65) then there should be a configuration reset option on the console menu immediately after powerup. If the firmware is too old then you might be able to distribute newer firmware from another BR500, assuming that function has not itself been password protected. Otherwise you have to fiddle with the flash chip to make the configuration look invalid.
