Wireless nets in/near Grass Valley or Nevada City CA

I may be spending some time up at a friend's place outside Grass Valley
(in the Sierra foothills between Sacramento and Tahoe).  The phone lines
to her house only support rather slow dial-up, and I get a mountain of
email.  So I was wondering if anyone knew of any free wireless (cafes,
businesses, homes that allow sharing, etc.) in that area, or if there
are any tmobile locations in that area (tmobile's website SUCKS).
